Elemental

With these images I am trying to strip the content down to the absolute essentials of the landscape, to evoke the feeling and atmosphere of a place without it necessarily being recognisable.

To acheive this I am either paring the composition down to the bare essentials, or shooting the scene in black & white to simplify the image.

I have found this project exhilarating, and extremely challenging, taking me back to my very first excursions in photography when I was using it as an extension of my artwork rather than art in its own right.

I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I have enjoyed discovering them.
